The first known labyrinth was found in Greece in 1200 B.C.E.
The labyrinth has been used for centuries by faithful as a part of their pilgrimage. They would walk a labyrinth as part of their spiritual quest. The labyrinth, unlike a maze, has only one way in and one way out. This is symbolic of the one-way to God or Source.
When I was able to process the reality of my diagnosis and think about how people could show their support on my journey to recovery, there was one thing which immediately came to mind, a Labyrinth Walk. My surgery is scheduled for July 21. I would love to see how many people will support my by walking a labyrinth on or before that date.
The labyrinth is very special to me. I walk our labyrinth often to focus and find peace. It is a place for meditation, reflection, and prayer. Walking a labyrinth is powerful. Nearly every person I have talked to who has experienced a labyrinth walk has said how they feel changed.
It would mean a lot to me for others to walk a labyrinth on my behalf. There are more labyrinths around than I ever dreamed. If you don't know where to find one, please use the labyrinth locator below. Invite friends, family, anyone who is willing to support me in this way. When you walk the labyrinth, take time to pray or send positive thoughts. Visualize a complete recovery. As an added touch, make an encouraging and supportive sign. Please remember to take pictures of your labyrinth walk and post it on my public Facebook page.
If you can't find a labyrinth nearby, or are unable to walk one, please download one from the link below. Trace it with your finger and meditate or pray while you do it. If you're in the Tucson area, please come walk our labyrinth.
Please flood my Facebook feed with pictures of Labyrinth walks. Your support through prayer, positive thoughts, and encouragement are going to help me through this.
