Hi, we are Dean and Lisa Kindle, owners of Solquest Retreat in Vail, Arizona. In 2019, we were married in Maple Grove, MN in a labyrinth. We had a dream to travel or live somewhere exotic before we were too old to do it. We wanted to get a jump on living our best life before we retired. We want to give others our best and serve others from our life experiences and professional training. Solquest was born as we visited Tucson in March of 2022 and were called here to create an art and wellness center that would be a place of peace.
In 2022, Dean was offered a position in Tucson where he is now employed as the Director of Jersey College. Lisa is continuing her life/career as an artist and offers Art and Wellness Coaching, with a wellness counseling certification from Cornell University as well as a therapeutic art life coaching certification. She also oversees all aspects of the Solquest Retreat Center.
We came to visit Tucson; and we left with a vision that is now our life's calling. Our vision is to create a place of peace. It is called Solquest, an art and wellness Retreat Center.
The first big thing we did when we moved onto the property, was to build our labyrinth. It is a 40 foot, classical labyrinth with six circuits. We wake up everyday and soak in the reality that we are here and our dream is coming to life. The next phase of preparing Solquest Retreat for me is the Serenity Color Gardens. Lisa will be creating color totems for each and we will be putting affirmations on some of the stones in the pathways between each of the color gardens. A pergola is being put in place for quiet reflection and a dry fountain is nearby that is being incorporated into the Serenity Color Gardens.
We are now accepting donations of colored glass and ceramics to be used in color totems artist, Lisa Kindle will be making. Bring one when you come walk the labyrinth.
The labyrinth provides many things. The labyrinth is a tool to reflect your inner story, the twists and turns of life. Come to unwind and release your cares, come out with renewed vision and a sense of calm.
It is our complete joy to see people finding peace here. The first walkers were a young single mother and daughter. When they reached the middle, they held hands and looked up at the mountain. As they exited the center, I heard the daughter say, "I love you mom!" Our dream was affirmed in that moment. It touched my heart deeply. We hope the labyrinth will be a blessing for many.
Come experience the stillness and solace that can found in the desert walking the Solquest Labyrinth.
